Name of your band?
Blindboss

What does the name mean?
It’s kind of innocuous at this point. The band originally started as a power trio and the first drummer, Ryan, mentioned this historical figure, Blind Boss Buckley, from San Francisco. We liked the name “Blind Boss” but I was really into Radiohead at the time so I suggested making it one word. Now I guess it’s up to the beholder to attach a meaning. I think it means a lot of things but I am more interested in the interpretation of others.

Who’s in the group?
Just me, Max Gomez.

How’d you guys meet?
At birth and every day upon waking.

How long have you been together?
Blindboss has been releasing music since 2016.

What genre of music would you consider yourself and who are your influences?
It’s definitely rock music that’s rooted in punk, but now I’m trying to get wacky and poppy at the same time. Influences include Cardiacs, Rudimentary Peni, The Living End, The Locust and Fugazi.

What practice tips do you find help your band practices?
I find warming up adequately helps with any rehearsal’s longevity. You gotta get the gears lubricated if you want to run the engine longer.

How long have you been at Gemini?
Over the past decade, 3 times amounting in 5 years, so far. Gemini is home away from home and my favorite place to create. Luke is the best!

Where can we listen to your music?
