Avenue of the Sun.
Where does the name of your band come from?
We grew up in Hollywood and Gabriel built his first studio at his uncle’s house on Avenida Del Sol. We were playing a gig at The Joint and needed a band name.

Gabriel C – Singer and guitarist, songwriter
JBH – Bassist HB
Brian Perrero – Drummer LB
How’d you guys meet?
Gabriel and Brian met in a Janes Addiction tribute band about 8 years ago. Gabriel met JBH at a party at the NAMM show 6 years ago.
What genre of music would you consider yourself and who are your influences?
I would say our genre is Socal Post Alternative Rock. We get influences from all different genres from rock to hip hop, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Faith No More, Lit, and Jet. We also play some covers from Lit and Jet.
What is the best advice you’ve been given about playing music or otherwise?
The first piece of advice would be to get a 24 lockout rehearsal studio. No time constraints, no more loading. The secod would be to learn the business end of the music industry.
Craziest thing that’s happened to you as a band?
Played a battle of the bands at house of blues and ended up getting signed by record label!
What practice tips do you find help your band practices?
Communication is key, gotta express how you feel about the music and the band. You also need a leader, but you also need input for everyone in the band.
What are some tips for playing live gigs?
Keep it down so you don’t blow everybody’s ears out.
